About the Role
We’re looking for a reliable, hardworking and friendly Shopping Centre Cleaner / Housekeeping Operative to join our team at The Forge Shopping Centre.
You’ll play an important role in keeping the centre clean, safe and welcoming for our customers, retailers, visitors and staff. Working as part of our housekeeping team, you’ll help maintain a high standard of cleanliness across the centre and ensure our public spaces are always looking their best.
What You’ll Be Doing
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out general cleaning and housekeeping duties throughout the shopping centre.
- Cleaning public areas including malls, corridors, entrances, toilets, lifts, escalators and stairwells.
- Cleaning staff and back-of-house areas.
- Sweeping, mopping, polishing and disinfecting surfaces.
- Emptying bins and disposing of waste safely and efficiently.
- Responding quickly to spillages and cleaning emergencies.
- Replenishing washroom supplies such as soap, toilet paper and hand towels.
- Using cleaning equipment and machinery safely and correctly.
- Following health and safety procedures, including COSHH regulations.
- Reporting maintenance issues, hazards or damage to your supervisor.
- Working as part of a team to keep the centre clean and presentable throughout busy trading periods.
- Providing a friendly and helpful service when interacting with customers and members of the public.
