Proud to Be a Breastfeeding-Friendly Centre

February 2026

At The Forge Shopping Centre in Glasgow, we are committed to creating a welcoming, inclusive and supportive environment for all our visitors. Including parents and carers who are breastfeeding. We know that feeding your baby is a natural and important part of family life, and we’re proud to support you every step of the way.

Under Scottish law including The Breastfeeding etc. (Scotland) Act 2005 and the Equality Act 2010 it is totally legal for someone to breastfeed or bottle-feed their child in public, and no one should be asked to stop, cover up or move while they are feeding their baby.

We are pleased to say that our team have completed breastfeeding-awareness training, meaning they’re confident in understanding and respecting your rights. This helps ensure that anyone who is breastfeeding at The Forge feels respected, supported and comfortable throughout their visit.

For added convenience, breastfeeding facilities are available in our Upper Mall toilets, providing a comfortable space with privacy when you need it.

We’re also part of the national Breastfeeding Friendly Scotland initiative  a Scottish Government-backed scheme that lets people know which businesses actively understand and support breastfeeding in public places. Participating venues display recognition of their commitment and are included on an interactive map of breastfeeding-friendly locations across Scotland.
