Specsavers Celebrates Re-Opening

March 2019

STAFF from Specsavers celebrated the re-opening of their store in Glasgow Forge on Saturday 2 March.

The store has undergone a £230,000 investment and will now feature five state-of-the-art test rooms equipped with the latest clinical equipment for eye examinations as well as a dedicated audiology room which features soundproof technology.

All of the IT in store has also been upgraded to use the latest technology available. Each staff member will also have their own IPad that can be used to aid customers from anywhere in the store.

The store is excited to announce that there will be a hearing service available with hearing Director Ryan Forbes, who will join the store every Wednesday to test customers’ hearing. There will be a wide variety of services available including wax removal and sound protection.

The team had a big celebration on Saturday with a branded balloon arch, a big ear customised cake for customers, a ribbon cutting followed by a referee visit. The referee, Bobby Madden got an eye and hearing test in the new rooms ahead of the match on Monday between Partick Thistle v Hearts Midlothian Scottish Cup game. The store also had a ‘big ear’ that was interacting with customers around the shopping centre.

Store Director, Angela Lucas is delighted with the investment made to the store in The Forge.

Angela says: ‘This is a really exciting time for us in store. We have undergone a lot of work and are thrilled to be sharing the new look with customers, old and new.

‘We are really grateful for everyone who came along on Saturday and we hope that you enjoyed the celebrations as much as we did.’
