Keep Scotland Beautiful Award
The Forge has been the first shopping centre in Scotland to be presented with its Gold standard National Award for Environmental Excellence by Keep Scotland Beautiful. The award which focuses on internal and external environmental quality, waste management and community participation was presented on Friday 14 August.
The centre, which was audited earlier this year by trained assessors from Keep Scotland Beautiful, is the first shopping centre in Glasgow to achieve the gold standard and only the second in Scotland to achieve gold accreditation. The audit report noted that “externally and internally the centre provides a great environment for the customers.”
Paul Wishart, Centre Manager at The Forge, said:
“We are delighted to be awarded the Gold accreditation, it is a tribute to the commitment and dedication shown by The Forge team. The team works hard daily to ensure standards at the centre are exceptional.”
Derek Robertson, Chief Executive of Keep Scotland Beautiful, said:
“We are delighted with the high standards demonstrated by The Forge Shopping Centre. It is important that companies accept their environmental responsibilities. However, it is equally important that we recognise and celebrate their efforts.”
